DANCING legend Wayne Sleep has recalled the iconic moment he danced with the late Princess Diana.
Speaking to GBNews, he said it led to the start of a ten-year friendship.
He said: “We danced at Covent Garden at the Royal Opera House. It was quite a surprise for her husband, it was meant to be a surprise and a Christmas gift for him. “We got eight curtain calls and she wanted to do it again. But I said no, ‘leave them wanting more’. I said ‘you have to bow to the Royal Box you know’, and she said ‘I’m not, he’s my hubby’ well I said ‘I am!’ As we ran off she said ‘you won’t get your OBE after that’.
“We used to have great fun. For about 10 years we used to see each other off and on and she always said ‘I'll do the jokes’. And you know, she advised me a lot as well with the Press when they were anti-me and stuff like that. And suddenly I became known for knowing her. And I didn't quite know how to deal with that. So she taught me lots of tricks.”
