The TV personality has been left frustrated with how the situation unfolded

Kim Kardashian has set the record straight over why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were deleted from Kris Jenner's birthday posts.

The reality TV star appeared on her sister Khloe Kardashian's podcast, Khole in Wonder Land, explaining how what the siblings describe as "Photogate" came to be.

Kim, 45, said: "It was really innocent, which is so crazy.

"Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship."

The 45-year-old explained they were going through photos, picking which to share on social media.

Kim said: "We were told that it was totally cool to post. And then after it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, and they didn't want to be seen at a party, even though it's already up, you know, and then taken down.

"And then I think they realised, like: 'Oh, this was so silly.'"

The TV personality added that the pair had been seen at the Baby2Baby charity gala the same night, which "was fine, but maybe not partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever".

Kim said: "So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day. You got to laugh at, like, the situation sometimes and just, like, lighten it up and be if everyone's taking it the wrong way, like, lean in.

"I was like: 'We should do a full Skims campaign.' Take the photo - even just us, like, I'll shoot you at mom, you know, post it and then delete it, like, 30 minutes later.

"And then I say: 'Oh, sorry, I didn't have permission to post those photos for the campaign.'

"If we just made it light and made it funny, you know, I think it would have been, like, received differently, but I hated how that was received for everyone."

Kim concluded: "That sucks. It was just made into something that was so crazy and ridiculous that just didn't have to be."

GB News has reached out to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.

Harry and Meghan were among a number of A-list celebrities at the event, held at the multi-million-pound mansion of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in Beverly Hills.

It was initially understood the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not agree that pictures taken of them inside the party could be publicly shared, according to People.

The couple, who have been married for seven years, allegedly ticked the "no" option on a photo consent form, which caused the images to be deleted from the social media posts.

However, a source told People that "there were no consent forms", denying the claim.

The picture, which displayed both Meghan and Kim together at the glamorous event, was initially removed from the social media post without any public statement regarding its deletion.

The photograph had been part of a larger carousel of images celebrating the evening party.
