Princess Beatrice's husband has revealed he is in Malaysia amid the chaos surrounding his father-in-law, Prince Andrew.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi posted a night view of Kuala Lumpur on his Instagram Story, confirming that he is in Malaysia.

The skyline image showed the Exchange 106 tower in the Tun Razak Exchange district, which confirms the location as Kuala Lumpur.

It is not known whether Princess Beatrice is with him; she was photographed driving into Royal Lodge on Monday in Windsor, which suggests she has remained in the UK this week.

The timing of Mr Mapelli Mozzi's post landed amid a flurry of developments around Beatrice’s parents.

Andrew announced last week that he will no longer use his royal titles after discussions with King Charles.

It was confirmed on the same day that Sarah Ferguson would also stop using Duchess of York publicly.

While the dukedom legally still exists, the shift means both have agreed to stop using those styles in public communications.

Political pressure has also escalated; Prime Minister Keir Starmer has indicated support for MPs examining Andrew’s Royal Lodge arrangements.

Additionally, he has backed calls for the prince to answer questions in Parliament. Senior MPs are pushing for a formal inquiry into the deal.

New reporting this week revealed Andrew has not paid rent on Royal Lodge since he signed a long lease in 2003 with the arrangement commonly described as a peppercorn rent.

The 65-year-old paid a premium for the lease but no ongoing rent across more than two decades, a point now drawing intense scrutiny.

Against that backdrop, Mr Mapelli Mozzi's post from Southeast Asia drew quick attention online.

The property developer and Banda founder regularly travels for work but did not add a caption to indicate the purpose or duration of this trip.

Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi married in Windsor in 2020 and keep a low public profile with their daughters, Sienna and Athena.

There has been no public comment from either about the debate over Royal Lodge.

Royal Lodge, a 30-room home in Great Windsor Park, has been Andrew’s residence for more than 20 years under a 75-year lease signed in 2003.

The question of whether the current terms remain appropriate has become a live political issue following the announcements about ceasing the use of titles and the renewed focus on finances.
