Officers 'responded swiftly' to the projection, police said at the time

Four men who were detained after images of Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto Windsor Castle will face no further action, Thames Valley Police has confirmed.

The men, aged 60 from East Sussex, 36 and 50 from London, and 37 from Kent, were arrested in September during the US president’s state visit to the UK.

They had been held on suspicion of offences including public nuisance and malicious communications.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Thames Valley Police said the investigation had concluded and no charges would be brought against any of the individuals involved.

The incident took place on September 16, when images of the American president and the disgraced financier appeared on the castle walls.

Officers “responded swiftly” to the projection, the force said at the time, detaining four men at the scene.

Mr Trump was known to have been acquainted with Epstein in the 1990s and early 2000s.

However, he has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has never been accused of criminal behaviour in connection with the late financier.

The projection occurred shortly before Mr Trump arrived in the UK for an unprecedented second state visit.

He met King Charles at Windsor Castle the following day, September 17.

Protests were staged in the area ahead of his visit, prompting a large-scale police response.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that more than 1,600 officers had been deployed across central London as part of a security operation linked to demonstrations organised by the Stop Trump Coalition.

President Trump’s past association with Jeffrey Epstein has continued to fuel political debate in the United States.

Critics are urging the release of files they claim could shed light on the president’s ties to the disgraced financier.

Mr Trump and Epstein were acquainted from the late 1980s through the early 2000s, moving in the same social circles and reportedly visiting one another’s homes.

Those familiar with the pair at the time have said they often competed for female attention.

Epstein’s former associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, has said this year that she never witnessed any inappropriate behaviour by Mr Trump.

The president has repeatedly denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities and has said he distanced himself from him years before Epstein’s 2019 arrest and subsequent death.

Pressure has mounted in 2025 as the Trump administration continues to withhold files linked to Epstein, despite Mr Trump’s campaign pledge to make them public during the 2024 election.
