Kate replaced Prince Harry in the role after the Duke of Sussex stepped down as a working member of the Royal Family.

When asked if he enjoyed the match between England and Wales, Prince William responded: "Not a lot. We’ve been talking about it all weekend."

He added: "I’ve been getting non-stop grief all weekend about that."

His visit to Wales comes as polling shows the Prince William does have the support of the majority of Welsh people.

Despite controversy surrounding the title "Prince of Wales", two-thirds of adults in a YouGov study supported Prince William in his role, according to a poll conducted soon after Queen Elizabeth II's death.

However, the same poll suggested only 19 per cent of adults wanted to see a grand investiture ceremony for the heir to the throne, similar to the now-King Charles' in 1969.

It is understood there are no plans for an investiture ceremony for Prince William.
