Prince William is set to come face-to-face with members of the Spanish Royal Family on Sunday.

Kensington Palace announced on Wednesday morning that the Prince of Wales will travel to Switzerland to support the Lionesses in the Women's Euros final.

No further details were given regarding whether any of William's three young children will accompany him on Sunday.

On Wednesday evening, Spain sealed their place as England's opponents in the final after defeating Germany 1-0 after extra time in their semi-final match.

The 2025 Euros final will be a repeat match-up of the Women's World Cup final in 2023, when the Lionesses played Spain.

England suffered a 1-0 defeat in their first-ever Women's World Cup final but go into Sunday's match as the reigning champions of the Women's Euros after beating Austria 1-0 in the 2022 final.

Despite holding the title of world champions, Spain will be making their first-ever appearance in a Women's Euros final on Sunday.

Prince William attended the Women's Euros final in 2022 when the Lionesses triumphed 1-0 over Austria at Wembley Stadium.

However, the royal sparked fury when he decided not to travel to Australia to support the Lionesses in the World Cup final.

The day before the final, Prince William apologised for deciding not to attend the match in a video message alongside his daughter, Princess Charlotte.

Prince William said: "Lionesses, I want to send you a huge good luck for tomorrow, we're sorry we can't be there in person, but we're so proud of everything you've achieved and the millions you've inspired here and around the world. So go out there tomorrow and really enjoy yourselves."

Princess Charlotte added: "Good luck Lionesses."

The decision was exacerbated by the fact that no member of the Royal Family attended the pivotal match, while the Queen of Spain and her daughter both made the long-haul journey to Australia to cheer on their country's team.

It has not been confirmed which Spanish royals will travel to Switzerland on Sunday, but this time they will be reunited with Prince William at the showpiece event.
