Speaking at Christie's auction house during a 'Greater Together' event, the monarch said about the future, stating: "As we look to the future, I won't see the long-distance future, but I'm enormously grateful to you for what you can all do as supporters to help in this vital endeavour to champion the next generation."
The gathering marked half a century since Charles founded The King's Trust, with the evening designed to highlight Britain's cultural significance across America in areas including sport, arts and community.
A glittering array of celebrities attended the New York gathering, with fashion luminaries Anna Wintour, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney and Donatella Versace among the guests.

Singer Lionel Richie, who serves as The King's Trust Global Ambassador, took to the stage to introduce King Charles to the assembled crowd.
Katherine Jenkins and supermodel Iman were also present at the prestigious venue.
After being welcomed by Richie, the King acknowledged his busy speaking schedule, remarking: "I hesitate to make yet another speech" – having already delivered two addresses the previous day in Washington.
The monarch reflected on the organisation's origins, describing it as "a wonderfully and proud but extraordinary moment" to mark five decades since establishing the charity, which he admitted was "quite difficult to get it off the ground."
The monarch is receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

King Charles praised the Trust's achievements over the years, emphasising how it had made a significant difference by investing in young people and building their self-confidence.
The initiative has also helped create numerous highly successful enterprises, some of which have been sold for millions of pounds.
He called upon those present to support the charity's mission, urging them to ensure young people's talent and ambition continue strengthening society for years to come.

The King's cancer was initially discovered in 2024 when he underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate, though Buckingham Palace confirmed the diagnosis was not prostate cancer.
