The Duke of Sussex supports several charities that work to rehabilitate injured veterans.

Prince Harry’s triple amputee friend used “the power of social media” to get his stolen prosthetic legs back.

A women found the Royal Marine Veteran’s prosthetic legs in an alley by her house following a social media appeal to find the stolen prosthetic limbs.

Royal Marine Mark Ormrod, 40, used X, formerly known as Twitter, to publish video footage of his damaged vehicle following the theft.

The veteran received hundreds of messages of support and the video was retweeted thousands of times.

The Afghanistan veteran is a friend of Prince Harry and joined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf last September.

Ormrod spoke about the robbery on social media stating: “The sad thing is to think that someone would break into a car parked in a disabled parking space and steal equipment someone needs to live independently, and not even care.

“For someone to break into anyone’s car and steal from them is wrong. To break into a disabled persons car makes me think that the thief was desperate and I’m going to assume (rightly or wrongly) that they’re life’s in a bad place and they’re down on their luck.”

Ormrod lost both is legs and his right arm when he was detonating a Taliban booby-trap while serving in Helmand Province on Christmas Eve, 2007.

The veteran was pronounced dead twice after the explosion but survived, making him the UK’s first triple amputee to survive the war.

Ormrod added on social media: “Whoever you are that broke into my car I hope that if you are down on your luck that things change.

“Draw a line in the sand, take personally responsibility for your life, pull yourself up and take your life to where you want it to be.”

Prince Harry dubbed the veteran Britain’s own “superman” when he met him in recovery.

Ormrod spent a decade working with charities but decided to take a break in 2021 to spend more time with his family.

The Duke of Sussex wrote him a letter to thank him for all the work he had done for British veterans.

Harry works with several charities that work to rehabilitate wounded, injured and sick troops including Travalyst, Sentebale, African Parks, WellChild and the Invictus Games.
