The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK on Monday

Prince Harry has declared that "the next decade matters more" as he hailed a new era for his Invictus Games organisation, just hours after his landmark reunion with King Charles.

After sharing “a private tea” with King Charles at Clarence House, the Duke of Sussex travelled across London at attend the first-ever Invictus Horizons gathering.

In his speech, the duke highlighted the transformative power of the Invictus movement and its crucial role moving forward.

"This is what Invictus does best: it catalyses change,” Harry celebrated.

“It shows what is possible when courage is met with opportunity, and when recovery is supported by respect and community," the prince continued.

The duke also stressed the best was yet to come, with the coming decade of Invictus proving critical.

"That is why tonight is so important. Because as proud as I am of our first decade, I know the next decade matters even more,” he declared.

Harry remarks also touched on the Foundation's commitment to expanding its reach and deepening its impact on service members and veterans worldwide.

Rob Owen OBE was also introduced as the organisation's new chief executive after assuming the role earlier this year.

Mr Owen, whose background encompasses extensive experience in social impact and veterans' affairs, outlined an ambitious new strategic framework for the Foundation.

"It is a privilege to lead an organisation with such strong foundations and extraordinary potential to change lives," he stated.

The event brought together advocates, collaborators and members of the Invictus community to unveil the Foundation's fresh strategic approach.

During the meet, they set out their aims to expand the organisation's influence as it embarks on its second decade of supporting wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans through sporting activities.

Today's gathering also welcomed representatives from Birmingham, which will host the 2027 Games, alongside delegates preparing submissions for 2029.

Their participation highlighted the Foundation's unique ability to unite military, political, sporting and community leaders from around the world.

The Foundation's strategic framework for the coming decade rests on four fundamental pillars.

These include catalysing systemic change, expanding the movement's reach, directing resources to areas of greatest need, and sustaining support for existing community members.

In his speech, Mr Owen emphasised the collective nature of this mission, stating: "Our vision is a world where no wounded, injured or sick service person or veteran is left without the opportunity to recover, rebuild and thrive through the power of sport and community."
