Prince Harry and Meghan wrapped up their tour of Nigeria this week
A royal commentator is furious about Prince Harry's inspection of Nigerian troops, branding the move "insulting". This comes after Meghan and Harry wrapped up a tour of Nigeria last week.
The couple travelled to Nigeria for three days after being invited by the country's highest-ranking military official, Christopher Musa.
The Sussexes championed their Archewell Foundation's mental health initiatives for young people and promoted the Invictus Games which Nigeria joined for the first time last year. Speaking to GBN America, Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan discussed the tour and criticised the Prince for his inspection of the troops, even though he was stripped of his title by the late Queen.
She said: "It is so laughable and further diminishes Harry in the eyes of the royals and the world. He is standing at attention as though he still holds his military honours and titles. As if he wasn't stripped of them when he left.
"As if William had not been given the honour last week by Charles that was due to go to Harry. He's standing there at attention in plain clothes, reviewing Nigerian troops.
"I mean, it's it's laughable. It's an insult to the Nigerian people.
"These two are of course, playing as though they're still royals when they've spent the past four to five years telling us how terrible it was to be Royals."
