The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been ordered to move out of their UK home

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rushed into crunch talks with King Charles after he told them to vacate Frogmore Cottage within weeks.

The Sussexes were originally given just several weeks to pack up their belongings from their UK home.

However, after negotiations, it was agreed they would have until after the Coronation to move out.

Meghan and Prince Harry were first told they would need to leave the property just one day after the Duke of Sussex's autobiography was released.

It is thought that the Duke of Sussex blasting his stepmother publicly violated a red line for the King.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the couple have been asked to leave their UK base, saying: "We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage."

King Charles has offered Frogmore Cottage to his brother Prince Andrew, who currently lives in the larger Royal Lodge mansion.

A source told The Sun: “Charles wanted to start after his Coronation with the issues of Harry and Meghan and Andrew put to bed.

“The situation has dragged on far too long and he wanted to act decisively and quickly.”

King Charles's treatment of the Sussexes and Prince Andrew is said to have divided the Royal Family.

Senior working members of the monarchy such as Camilla, Prince William and the Princess of Wales are supportive of the King's decision.

However, non-working royals such as the Sussexes, Andrew and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are "appalled" by the Frogmore Cottage feud.

Omid Scobie, a royal commentator close to Meghan and Harry, said the Sussexes view their eviction from Frogmore Cottage as a "cruel final punishment" from King Charles.
