A source has revealed that there is one member of the royals that beats Meghan in the diva category

Meghan Markle is "not the biggest diva" in the Royal Family, a commentator has claimed.

Former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond has revealed that Meghan comes in second in the "diva" category and the late Princess Margaret could give her a good run for her money.

The late Queen's younger sister was known for her no-nonsense attitude and could come across "rude" at times.

Speaking to The Sun, Bond said: ""(Margaret) was fantastically grand, fantastically snobbish.

“And she did tarnish the reputation of the Royal Family with her lifestyle, her broken marriage, bringing divorce into the fold."

Bond argued that Margaret did more damage to the monarchy than the Sussexes have but claimed she felt that the duchess also had a few “diva qualities”.

"I do think that Meghan had some diva qualities," she said.

Meghan has been called a diva in the past and took the word as an insult.

In the second episode of her Archetypes podcast in 2022 pop star Mariah Carey said: "You give us diva moments sometimes Meghan.”

The comment appeared to upset the duchess who responded: “I do? What kind of diva moments do I give you?” To which Carey replied that it was mostly down to “the look”.

Later the popstar tweeted: "Really enjoyed talking to Duchess and Diva Meghan Markle about ‘The Duality of Diva’.

“Yes! I called her a diva, in the most fabulous, gorgeous, and empowering meaning of the word!!!”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to California after dramatically quitting their roles as senior royals in 2020 and since then tensions have only risen between the couple and the rest of the Royal Family.

The pair are also understood not to have been invited to this year's annual Trooping The Colour celebration, scheduled for June 15.

They were also not invited to the event last year, which marked the first Trooping the Colour parade under the reign of King Charles, Harry's father.
