Ingrid Seward has just released a book that explores the relationship between the King and his mother
A royal author has claimed that The King was "longing to be hugged" by his mother Queen Elizabeth as a child and instead found comfort in his nannies.
Ingrid Seward has just released a royal biography, named My Mother and I, which is the inside story of the King and his late mother.
Speaking to GB News she said: "She was the queen, but in later life, she was his mum. It was really through his work with his Princes' trust, she thought he had done such a marvelous job with underprivileged children and the inner cities.
"He cares about the youth of this country in a way that makes her very proud. But it took him a while for her to show this to him."
