King Charles is being kept informed from New York about the terrorist attack in Golders Green, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

Two Jewish men were stabbed this morning in what Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer called a "deeply concerning" terror attack in north west London.

Officers were first called to Highfield Avenue at 11.16am to reports of a stabbing in Highfield Road, Golders Green.

A Palace spokesman said: "His Majesty is being kept fully informed and is naturally deeply concerned, in particular about the impact for the Jewish community.

"His thoughts and prayers are with the two individuals who were injured and offers his heartfelt gratitude to those who so selflessly rushed to their aid."

A suspect attempted to stab police officers and was tasered before being arrested, in what Scotland Yard declared a terrorist incident.

Two men, one in his 70s and one in his 30s, were treated at the scene for stab wounds. Both men were taken to hospital, and both are in a stable condition.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into custody, where he remains.
