New pictures of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor taken just hours before Trooping the Colour show that the mystery bruise on his face has now healed.

The photo taken of the former prince near his home in Sandringham appears to show the bruise that appeared on his face has now gone.

His emergence came on the eve of Trooping the Colour, the annual celebration marking the monarch's official birthday.

Andrew has not been seen at the parade since 2019, after which he had his royal titles stripped, and balcony appearances were restricted to working royals only.

Senior working members of the Royal Family will gather on the Buckingham Palace balcony, with a carriage procession travelling along The Mall featuring the King, Queen and the Princess of Wales alongside her children.

The Duke of Kent, aged 90 and now the oldest working royal, will join the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Princess Royal with Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Anti-monarchy protesters also attended the parade, holding two photographs of Andrew. One depicted him in conversation with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, believed to be taken while on a walk in Central Park, New York.

The second, which was released as part of the Epstein Files earlier this year, shows Andrew appearing to be on all fours and kneeling over an unidentified female, who was on the floor.

Last week, the former Duke of York raised concerns when he was spotted in a car with significant bruising across his cheek and right eye.

The cause of the injury remains unknown.

A source close to Andrew told GB News that the bruise was "not a cause for concern," and added there had been "no drama"

The source declined to give further details, however.

A doctor also told the outlet that some patients can obtain similar purple bruising if they are on blood thinners.

While the doctor said this could be the result of facial surgery or being "punched in the face," they also stressed that it was impossible to know if any of these were the case with Andrew.

The 66-year-old has kept a low profile since he was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was released upon investigation later that week and strenuously denies any wrongdoing.

Thames Valley Police later confirmed they are assessing possible sexual offences as part of the investigation.
