The cause of the injury remains unknown

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been seen with a large bruise on his face.

The former Duke of York was spotted leaving Marsh Farm with a purple swelling covering the majority of the right side of his face.

The cause of the injury remains unknown.

An image, obtained by the Sun, shows the former Prince driving a black SUV on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has kept a low profile since he was allegedly confronted by a man on the Norfolk residence last month.

The incident reportedly unfolded at approximately 7.30pm in the vicinity of the Sandringham Estate, where the former prince had been exercising his dogs.

According to The Telegraph, the suspect was said to be wearing a balaclava and was approximately 50 yards from Mr Mountbatten-Windsor when the alleged threat occurred.

The man has been taken into custody by the police.

The confrontation is said to have taken place in a public lane adjacent to the Sandringham Royal Parkland, near Marsh Farm.

The King's brother has been residing at the property since departing Royal Lodge in Windsor last year.

The suspect had allegedly been seated inside his vehicle before exiting and approaching the former prince while shouting.

Andrew, who was said to have a member of his private security team accompanying him, apparently left the scene by car as the man allegedly attempted to run after the departing vehicle.

Norfolk Police responded to the alert and detained the suspect at the location for questioning.

Officers were also understood to be examining the man's car for potential weapons.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.

"Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and remains in custody."

Andrew is also facing an investigation following allegations he behaved inappropriately towards a waitress during Royal Ascot in 2002, according to reports that emerged last weekend.

Thames Valley Police is examining the claims as part of its broader inquiry into the 66-year-old former working royal.

The alleged incident occurred during the prestigious Berkshire racing festival, which that year coincided with Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

He denies any wrongdoing.
