In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we mark St Patrick's Day and the celebration of a real man with a powerful story of faith.
"When people think of Saint Patrick's Day, they often think of the parades, the parties, the green clothes and the shamrocks. But behind the celebration is a real man with a powerful story of faith.
"Saint Patrick wasn't actually born in Ireland as a teenager. He grew up in Roman Britain, and he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken to Ireland as a slave. For six years he worked as a shepherd, isolated and far from his home. It was in that lonely place that his belief in God became real to him.
"He later wrote that he began to pray constantly throughout the day. In suffering, he discovered a deep dependence on God. Eventually, Patrick escaped and returned home, but his story didn't end there."
