In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we acknowledge that if Christianity is true, then the greatest thing we fear is no longer the most powerful thing in the room.
"Two days after Jesus died on the cross, his closest followers were hiding in a locked room. Their leader had been executed and they were afraid they might be next, when suddenly everything changed because wonder of wonders.
"Jesus appeared right there among them. He said, peace be with you. And then he showed them his hands and his side, the wounds he had received on the cross.
"And it says they were overjoyed. The people they had feared just moments before were eclipsed by the arrival of someone far greater and far more powerful.
"A few days earlier, Jesus had said to his disciples, in this world you will have trouble, but take heart. I have overcome the world. While those words now carried a new weight because he had overcome death itself, there are many things you and I may quite legitimately fear in this world. Illness, loss.
"Loneliness. Failure. The future. But if Christianity is true, then the greatest thing we fear is no longer the most powerful thing in the room."
