In today's daily reflection, we remember the story where Jesus was at dinner when Mary of Bethany anoints His feet, six days before Passover.
"The perfume was worth a year's wages, and John tells us the house was filled with the fragrance.
"Some criticised her extravagance, but Jesus defended her because she was right to love and honour him like that.
"Four days later, quite possibly with the smell of that perfume still clinging to him, Jesus died on the cross, and there he poured out his life in a far more extravagant display of love for the world."
