Rishi Sunak boasts UK as 'pioneers' of tackling illegal migration as 15 countries follow plan

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has hailed the UK as "pioneers" of tackling illegal migration, as he met with Austria's Chancellor on the issue.

Speaking exclusively to GB News, Sunak said: "It's been good to be here in Austria talking with Chancellor Hammer about tackling illegal migration. And the Austrians share our view that tackling illegal migration is one of the great issues of our time.

"It requires urgent attention, and the only way to fully solve this problem is to embrace new, bold, novel solutions like the use of safe third countries for removals. That's something that the Austrians believe."
