The Prime MInister faced fierce criticism for leaving D-Day celebrations early
"I am deeply proud to be British" Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has claimed after he has faced fierce criticism for leaving D-Day celebrations early.
The Prime Minister spoke to GB News political editor Christopher Hope ahead of next week's general election.
He said: "I am deeply proud to be British. I'm so proud and thankful for everything that this country has done for me and my family, as we've been talking about.
"And that's why I do this job. I do this job because of what this country has done for me and my family, and I want to make a difference to people's lives. I love this country. And no one should ever question that."
