The ex-Leader of the Commons Lucy Powell has won the race to succeed Angela Rayner as deputy leader of the Labour Party.
Ms Powell was running against Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson after Ms Rayner's resigned last month.
After Sir Keir Starmer sacked Ms Powell last month during a Cabinet reshuffle, many speculated that Ms Phillipson's was Downing Street's choice for the vacant position.
In the read-out of the votes, Ms Powell nabbed 54 per cent of the vote from party members, with Ms Phillipson lagging behind on 46 per cent.
