Donald Trump emerged victorious in the 2024 US Presidential election against then-Vice President Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris has hinted that she plans to run for President for a third time just 11 months after losing to Donald Trump.

Ms Harris claimed that she would "possibly" be Commander-in-Chief one day and branded Mr Trump a "tyrant".

The former Vice President claimed that the warnings she made about Mr Trump in the lead-up to the election had been proved right.

She described him as behaving like a "fascist" and running an authoritarian administration, adding: "He said he would weaponise the Department of Justice - and he has done exactly that."

Ms Harris said she had not yet made a decision, but underlined that she still sees herself as having a future in politics.

The Democrat dismissed polls that portrayed her as an outsider in her party's pick for the next election, with some putting WWE star Dawyne Johnson above her.

She told the BBC: "I am not done. I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it's in my bones."

The US politician added: "If I listened to polls I would have not run for my first office, or my second office - and I certainly wouldn't be sitting here."

The former Vice President slammed business leaders and institutions in America who she claims have bowed to the president's demands.

Ms Harris said: "There are many… that have capitulated since day one, who are bending the knee at the foot of a tyrant, I believe for many reasons, including they want to be next to power, because they want to perhaps have a merger approved or avoid an investigation."

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told the broadcaster: "When Kamala Harris lost the election in a landslide, she should've taken the hint - the American people don't care about her absurd lies.

"Or maybe she did take the hint and that's why she's continuing to air her grievances to foreign publications."

Mr Trump emerged victorious in the 2024 US Presidential Election against Ms Harris, defeating the Democratic nominee in a landslide.

President Trump secured more than the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency by flipping several key battleground states that had gone to the Democrats in 2020.

He won all seven of the most closely contested swing states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Unlike in 2016, the President also won the national popular vote.
