President Trump has vowed to “win the AI [Artificial Intelligence] race” after unveiling a sweeping action plan that he says will strip away “bureaucratic red rape” and “ideological bias”.
The 28-page AI Action Plan sets out 90 policy actions for the technology that his administration say can be implemented over the next year.
Unveiling his radical plan, he said: “I don’t even like the name - I don’t like anything artificial, we should change the name. It’s not artificial, it’s genius.
“Whether we like it or not, we are engaged in the fast-paced competition to build and define this technology that will determine so much about the future of civilisation itself”.
He said America is the country that “started the AI race” and America is “going to win it” after “working hard”.
