Mordaunt accused Labour of 'clobbering' hard-working people

Penny Mordaunt has accused Labour for "siding with eco-zealots" in a furious House of Commons rant.

The Leader of the House of Commons hit out at Labour for commenting on the Government's legislation to "stop the boats", saying: "I always find this amusing that the Labour benches are very keen to see this legsialtion brought forwards to they can stop it.

"Labour say they have changed but they havent and their actions im afraid speak louder than words.

"They talk tough on borders but they voted every single time against our measures to strengthen them."

Launching into a furious rant against the Labour Party, Mordaunt continued: "They talk about equality while not paying women a fair age.

"They talk about a charter for workers, while siding with strikers and eco-zealouts who prevent them from getting to work.

"They talk about fiscal responsibility but they'd borrow a further 28 billion more.

"They talk about opportunity but would tax education and halve apprenticeships.

"And the honorable kady has talked empathetically about the cost of living yet is very happy to clobber hard working people who can least afford it with higher taxe, Ulez and lower tax allowances."

"They talk of hope but htey would bring despair - despair that many in wales are now having to endure."

While she thanked outgoing Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford for his service, she added: "It's a good job that the Nativity didnt take place in Labour run Wales.

"Mary and Joseph would have been clobbered for an overnight stay levy.

"She would have had poor maternity services, the shepherds would not have been able to take the time off to bear witness due to cuts to the rural affairs budget and the three wise men would have arrived, post-epiphany due to the blanket 20mph speed limit and the poor condition of the road network.
