Liz Truss has labeled extreme trans ideology a “threat to womanhood” in an exclusive sit-down interview with GB News.
The former Prime Minister joined Dan Wootton in Leigh to discuss a range of topics including women’s rights, the recent Privileges Committee report into Boris Johnson and Prince Harry.
During a Q&A with the audience in Leigh, Truss was asked: “I think this is the most fundamental question ever. As a nurse I had to study biology to qualify. So why now can't our politicians and even our institutions like the NHS say what a woman is? Is extreme trans ideology a threat to womanhood?
Truss responded: “So the answer is yes it is. I think that's really clear. We've had situations of men taking advantage of this in women's prisons, in sports where they are claiming to be able to race in women's races and it is a huge issue for women.
She continued: “We have this doublespeak of politicians refusing to say women don't have penises.”
Asked by Wootton if she believes a woman can have a penis, she replied: “No, a woman does have a penis, obviously Dan!”
