UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced "absolute unity" among Ukraine's allies regarding a proposed 30-day unconditional ceasefire with Russia.

Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv on Saturday, Starmer highlighted the international consensus that has formed around the ceasefire initiative.

"The position we've now got to today is absolute unity across a whole range of countries around the world, including the United States, that there must be that 30-day unconditional ceasefire," Starmer told reporters.

The Prime Minister's remarks emphasised the broad international support for the initiative, with specific mention of US backing for the proposed temporary halt to hostilities.

This unified stance represents a significant diplomatic development in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The coordinated position among allies, including major powers like the United States and United Kingdom, demonstrates growing international pressure for at least a temporary cessation of hostilities.

Starmer's announcement from the Ukrainian capital underscores the UK's continued commitment to supporting Ukraine's position in the conflict.
