GB News’ Political Editor, Christopher Hope, raised a key issue with Grant Shapps as he analysed the appointment of Rishi Sunak’s new Defence Secretary.
Speaking to Bev Turner and Andrew Pierce on Britain’s Newsroom, Hope recalled the several roles in Government previously taken on by Shapps.
He said: “That’s right it’s his fifth job in a year Andrew - there’s been quite a lot of upheaval in the building behind me, 10 Downing Street.
“It’s been a difficult time, but clearly Rishi Sunak thinks he’s a safe pair of hands who can do this job and do a good job for the Government.
“He’s someone who’s trusted, he’s come from being Net Zero Secretary, he was Trade Secretary, Business Secretary, he’s definitely a good media operator.
“When he was Transport Secretary he bought his own Union Jack to put behind him on those zoom calls, when he was trying to communicate to the rest of the world from his home in Welwyn Garden City.”
