Ex-Labour MP Gloria De Piero believes Natalie Elphicke could have had a "cynical" motive behind her decision to defect to Sir Keir Starmer's party.
The decision appears to have left Tory and Labour MPs baffled given her association with Conservative group the ERG (European Research Group).
De Piero says to GB News members: “Imagine you’re the Prime Minister and you have to get up and answer loads of questions”, she said.
“Imagine the effect that has on your own psyche. All your colleagues behind you were aghast at the news.
“Is it cynical? Are they doing it because they want to keep a job?
“Apparently she’s not going to stand again at this election, but what do you think?
“Do you respect people for making such a dramatic change, saying I can’t do it in this party anymore? Or do you think they’ve lost their bottle?”
