Christopher Hope delivers his analysis of the People's Forum with Rishi Sunak

Well, the first GB News People's Forum is over and I thought the Prime Minister came out of it OK.

He did mention the fact that his mother ran a pharmacy three times. I feel that's going to be a big joke for the General Election campaign.

The same way Jeremy Hunt was an entrepreneur when he ran against Boris Johnson for leadership.

The big theme, I think for the whole event was 'don't mess it up. The plan is working.'

The Prime Minister kept giving us ideas. He thought that his plan was working on the NHS.

He thought the small boats issue was being dealt with eventually and he urged the House of Lords of course, and others not to water down the Rwanda plan.

So he thinks he's getting there.

A big flash. I thought were questions concerning vaccine harm.

He had no real answer on that, and I thought his answer annoyed some people as they left the room.

But overall, I think they did see more of Mr Sunak, that they haven't seen previously from interviews on TV.

The result of a straw poll that was carried out at the end of the Forum looks as though he could be quite pleased.

Out of those who left, 50 per cent said they're voting conservative, 36 per cent undecided and 14 per cent for another party.

That is what you might call a result for Number 10. This is the party, of course, 20 points behind in the polls.

Is this the beginning of a fight back? We'll wait and see.
