A teenager has been left in a serious condition after accidentally electrocuting himself in the groin.

The 15-year-old ended up in hospital after climbing on a train and electrocuting himself in the genitals and falling onto the tracks.


The boy was making a social media video when his stunt went wrong in Elektrougli, 30 miles to the east of Moscow.

As he scrambled on the engine, his groin touched the pantograph connecting the train to overhead live wire giving him an electric shock.

One reporter said: "'Instead of a spectacular stunt on camera and tons of likes, he received an injury that he will remember for the rest of his life if doctors save him."

"The electric shock hit the teenager in the groin and, as eyewitnesses write, literally burned the reckless driver's genitals."

NTV television channel reported: "The current passed through his groin, after which the teenager fell from the [train's] roof.

"In a serious condition with a charred penis, he was taken to hospital."

In the footage on social media, the teenager was seen with a bloodied face writhing in agony on the platform, the front of his trousers singed.

Footage shows him receiving first aid from paramedics at the station before being taken to hospital. Reports say his penis was badly burned.

He is heard saying: "It hurts."

His face and right arm and hand were bandaged before he was taken away by ambulance. The boy is now in intensive care in a "serious" condition.

In 2019, Dmitry Gaydukov, 14, had climbed on top of a refrigeration carriage at Zlobino station in Krasnoyarsk in Siberia, Russia, when he was electrocuted.

Witnesses reported seeing a huge electric flash, with the 14-year-old understood have come into contact with a 27,000-volt overhead live wire.
