Nicola McLean has dubbed the Wagatha Christie trial “totally sexist and misogynistic” while also slamming the treatment of her friend Rebekah Vardy.
Ms Vardy and Coleen Rooney faced off during their high-profile trial last week and now face a wait to find out who has won their libel battle.
In a viral social media post in October 2019, Ms Rooney, 36, said she had carried out a “sting operation” and accused Ms Vardy, 40, of leaking “false stories” about her private life to the press.

Ms Vardy denies the claims.
But broadcaster and fellow WAG, Ms McLean has hit out at the way Ms Vardy has been treated throughout the trial.
Speaking on GB News’ Dan Wootton Tonight, Ms McLean said: “I think the way Rebekah has been treated is absolutely appalling, the way she’s been treated in court.
“The things brought up, you know, things she did when she was 22.
“I’m sure that we can all sit here and say we did things 20 years ago that we regret.
“They went out to assassinate her character and they’ve done that, so Rebekah loses anyway because the Rooneys have been extremely clever with the stuff that they’ve represented in court.
“Her selling a story on Peter Andre when she was 22 has nothing to do with this, it really doesn’t.
“I feel dreadfully sorry for the way she’s been treated by the court, by influencers, by other celebrities.”
She continued: “It’s just been, who do you prefer? Everyone seems to prefer Coleen because she’s seen as a victim that we’ve all grown up with because we’ve known her for so long.
“Becky isn’t someone that everybody loves, so it’s fine to absolutely not only ruin her pregnancy and make her think she was going to miscarry but also now to totally credit her in every way.
“If this was Wayne and Jamie on the stand the reporting wouldn’t have been the same, it’s totally sexist and misogynistic.
“I just feel dreadful for both of them, but Rebekah is my friend and I stand by the fact that she’s been treated horrifically.”
