The pair rowed after it was announced that toilets and changing rooms must be used on the basis of biological sex
Michelle Dewberry accused political commentator Aaron Bastani of living in “cuckoo land” as he reacted to the Government’s new single-sex guidance.
Over a year on from the landmark Supreme Court, Women and Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson announced that toilets and changing rooms must be used on the basis of biological sex.
Michelle rowed with her guest after he suggested the “Blairite nonsense” Supreme Court should be abolished so that matters such as single-sex guidance could be decided in Parliment.
“You're living in cuckoo land, a very utopian world where activists and all the rest of it perhaps don't exist,” the GB News host said.
“What we've actually got is this ridiculous landscape where activists will bully, cajole institutions and organisations, and affect them. They will influence and change the language.
"You see it now, people don't even say the phrase pregnant woman. They're terrified. They start banging on about pregnant people because activist mentality influences them.
“So if this lot can’t even sort themselves out whilst you've got a court and all the rest of it, God only knows what the state of the country would be if you didn't have that infrastructure and framework,” she stressed.
