'I'm one in a position, amongst a lot of others, whose life basically lies in the hands of doctors,' Danica told The People's Channel

An NHS patient has told GB News that the ongoing resident doctors' strikes have left her “emotional and stressed” as she awaits care.

Speaking to The People’s Channel, Danica stated, “We’d all like a pay rise,” as she shared her opinion on medics walking out over remuneration demands.

Resident doctors are demanding a so-called pay restoration to accommodate inflation after the BMS rejected a 4.9 per cent pay increase between 2026 and 2027 offered by the Government.

Danica suggested that the strike was increasing the “backlog that had already happened from the Covid. It's getting really, really, really bad”.

“I'm one in a position, amongst a lot of others, whose life basically lies in the hands of doctors.

“It affects your family, your finances. It's emotional, it's stressful,” she despaired.

“I think we all would like a pay rise... but it would be nice to start getting looked at as patients.”
