'Those people are getting on the boats; they believe they're coming to El Dorado,' the Reform UK leader said
Nigel Farage has said it is “our fault these deaths are happening” after four small boat migrants perished while attempting to cross the English Channel.
Two men and two women died after the craft carrying them sank just off the coast of Boulogne.
“I'm surprised, to be honest, that deaths in the channel aren't even higher than they are,” the Reform UK leader explained.
“Those people are getting on the boats; they believe they're coming to El Dorado because they know we'll give them money and a house.
“So it's actually far more our fault than it is the French authorities that these deaths are happening,” Mr Farage said.
