Trump’s legal travails have come to the fore after he was ordered to pay more than $350m in damages in a civil fraud case, with interest charges potentially adding another $100m,

Trump is currently facing 91 charges across four separate cases, including his civil fraud case, where he was ruled by the judge to pay almost $355million in penalties.

He dubbed New York a "rigged state" and denies any wrongdoing in all cases made against him.

Despite Trump’s legal woes, he continues to surge ahead in the Republican primary polls.

He now goes to South Carolina where he faces off with his only remaining opposition for the Republican nomination, Nikki Haley.

The 77-year-old remains the overwhelming favourite and he has reiterated calls for his opponent to step down.
