Retired US Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor has delivered a scathing verdict on Joe Biden’s State of the Union Speech.

He told Neil Oliver on GB News that the president’s speech “did not touch people”.

The 77-year-old joined Neil to assess the political landscape in America ahead of November’s elections.

Biden is under pressure to reconnect with the US public with Donald Trump further solidifying himself as the lead candidate for the Republican nomination.

But Macgregor thinks the oldest ever sitting US president does not have momentum with him after delivering an uninspiring State of the Union address.

He had similar sentiments for his likely opponent, Donald Trump.

“I read Biden’s offering, I did not hear it”, he said.

“We’ve run out of sources for supporting Ukraine. It’s unsustainable.

“The American people are completely disinterested in this war, they’re much more concerned about our border issues.

“They want an end to the inflation and to get our financial house in order. I don’t think Biden or Trump addressed those issues.”
