1 in 4 foreign care staff working illegally in different jobs and are breaking visa rules

It has been revealed that one in four foreign care staff working illegally in different jobs and are breaking the rules of their visas.

New figures stated that one in every four foreign care workers, up to 25,000, are working illegally in the UK.

Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration, David Neal, found that the Home Office had issued 275 visas to a care home that did not exist and over 1,000 visas to a company that stated it had only four staff when given a license to operate.

This follows reports that more than 700 foreign nurses in Britain are treating patients despite being under investigation for not actually being qualified.

Speaking to GB News the research director for the Migrant Control Center Rob Bates said: "Last year we actually saw a record in the number of people that are arriving in the UK. And then not going on to work, it's actually worse than what you say.

"It's not unemployment, it's economic inactivity, which means they're not between jobs, they're not waiting to start a new role. They are actually not in a role and they're not seeking a new role."
