The Russian ambassador in London has been summoned by the Foreign Office to an urgent meeting after missiles struck a UK building.
Moscow's blitzed attack overnight saw two missiles damage a British Council building in Kyiv, with 17 people, including four children, declared dead in the area.
Hypersonic missiles and 629 drones were unleashed on the Ukrainian capital as the war rages on despite peace talks.

David Lammy called for an end to the war in Eastern Europe and for Russia to end its siege of Kyiv.
He wrote on social media: "Putin’s strikes last night killed civilians, destroyed homes and damaged buildings, including the British Council and EU Delegation in Kyiv.
"We have summoned the Russian Ambassador. The killing and destruction must stop."
The UK Prime Minister earlier accused Russia of "sabotaging hopes of peace" with its "senseless" attacks.

Keir Starmer recently returned from a meeting with US President Donald Trump and other European leaders at the White House for peace talks on the war.
The EU will also summon its Russian envoy over Moscow's strikes on Kyiv, the bloc's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has confirmed.
In addition to the British Council Building, the overnight hailstorm also struck the bloc's offices in the city, causing damage to the building but no injuries to staff.
The British Council Building, which operates independently but receives funding from the Foreign Office, was severely damaged, with glass and rubble on the streets.

A guard, who was working at the UK office, was injured and is being treated in hospital for injuries.
The building's windows were shattered, leaving emergency workers and residents to clear up the destruction in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The strikes mark the second-largest drone attack of the entire war, despite his talks with US President Donald Trump to end the conflict.
Despite negotiations between President Trump and the Russian President, followed by the European summit in Washington, a peace deal has yet to be agreed upon.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "Russia chooses ballistics instead of the negotiating table.
"It chooses to continue killing instead of ending the war."
He added: "This means that Russia still does not fear the consequences.
"All deadlines have already been broken, dozens of opportunities for diplomacy ruined. Russia must feel accountable for every strike, for every day of this war."
