Reform UK leader Richard Tice has detailed the “extraordinary” scenes in Ukraine where a “whole society” is mobilised for the war effort.
Speaking on GB News, Tice said the extent of the war effort ranges from frontline battles to 12-year-olds in their bedrooms helping to design drones after school.
Asked about whether conscription should be introduced in Britain, Tice drew comparisons to the war effort in Ukraine.
“You have to have a strong deterrent”, he said.
“The way to guarantee peace is, prepare for war. I’ve just come back from Ukraine.
“I’ve never been to a war zone before. It’s absolutely extraordinary where you see a whole society mobilise for war to the extent where you’ve got 12-year-old children in their bedrooms after school helping to design and develop drones for the war effort.
“That’s because the whole society don’t want to be invaded by Russia. It’s quite extraordinary.”
