GB News Radio has outperformed all its network rivals, securing the highest year-on-year audience growth in the latest RAJAR figures.
The number of listeners tuning into GB News Radio jumped from 468,000 in Q4 2024 to 672,000 in Q4 2025, a rise of 44 per cent.
This annual audience growth is more than twelve times higher than LBC, almost ten times higher than BBC Radio Four, and over three times larger than Talk.
Listening hours have also increased sharply, rising 33 per cent year-on-year, underlining not just a larger audience for GB News Radio, but deeper engagement.
Several programmes delivered exceptional performances too, with some shows recording audience growth of more than 100 per cent year-on-year.
Commenting on the “phenomenal” results, GB News’ Head of Programming, Ben Briscoe, said: “The surge in the number of people turning to GB News Radio over the last year is yet another sign of a growing community now turning to our bold and fearless journalism each and every day.
“We’re seeing growing numbers across all our platforms, and these phenomenal results are down to a team which works tirelessly to tell the stories others ignore.
“The fact that listening hours are up so much is hugely significant. It shows that not only are more and more people turning to GB News Radio, but they are staying with us throughout the day to ensure they get the very best and latest live news coverage.”
Some shows up as much as 100 per cent YoY
From Breakfast through to its late-night prime-time show, GB News Radio is delivering strong year-on-year growth across its schedule.
The highlights from the latest RAJAR data included:
Weekday programme growth (YoY)
- State of the Nation (20:00–21:00): Audience soared 101.2 per cent.
- Britain’s Newsroom (09:30–12:00): Audience rocketed 87.1 per cent
- Martin Daubney (15:00–18:00): Audience rose 60.6 per cent
- Patrick Christys Tonight (21:00–23:00): Audience climbed 36.9 per cent
- Dewbs and Co (18:00–19:00): Audience leapt 34.5 per cent
- GB News Breakfast (06:00–09:30): Audience surged 33.7 per cent
- Farage (19:00–20:00): Audience up 33.7 per cent
- Good Afternoon Britain (12:00–15:00): Audience grew 31.7 per cent
GB News Radio programmes also delivered significant gains at weekends.
Saturdays:
- Nana Akua (15:00–18:00): Audience rocketed 68.3 per cent YoY
- The Weekend (12:00–15:00): Audience soared 42 per cent YoY
- The Saturday Five Extra (20:00–21:00): Audience up 4.3 per cent YoY
Sundays:
- The Camilla Tominey Show (09:30–11:00): Audience climbed 71.2 per cent YoY
- Nana Akua (15:00–18:00): Audience leapt 48.7 per cent YoY
- Sunday with Michael Portillo (11:00–13:00): Audience grew 43.9 per cent YoY
- GB News Breakfast (06:00–09:30): Audience up 39.4 per cent YoY
- Alex Armstrong Tonight Late Edition (23:00–24:00): Audience grew 28 per cent YoY
- The Camilla Tominey Show Highlights (18:00–19:00): Audience up 25 per cent YoY
- Alex Armstrong Tonight (21:00–23:00): Audience increased 19.4 per cent YoY
Where is GB News Radio’s audience growth coming from?
The RAJAR data reveals GB News Radio has seen its total number of female listeners grow by 68 per cent in the last 12 months.
The number of women aged 15-54 has soared by a staggering 94 per cent YoY, while the number of listeners classed as ‘ABC1 Adults’ was up 48 per cent YoY. Over 30 per cent of listeners are now aged under 45, according to the RAJAR data.
GB News: soaring on TV as well as radio
GB News Radio’s growth comes alongside its continued outstanding performance on television.
Latest BARB data shows GB News was Britain’s number one news channel from July 2025 through to the end of January.
The People’s Channel secured 88,528 average views over that period, ahead of the BBC News Channel on 79,305 and leaving Sky News a distant third on 67,408.
GB News achieved a 1.42 audience share over the same period, exceeding the BBC News Channel (1.27) and Sky News (1.08).
