Following the reported death, GB News presenter Nigel Farage has highlighted a key flaw in Tucker Carlson's landmark interview with Vladimir Putin.

Earlier this month, the ex-Fox News host sat down in Moscow with Putin to share his insight into the Ukraine war.

Gathering hundreds of millions of views on X, Carlson spoke to Putin about the war, international politics and the history of Russia in Europe.

Putin told Carlson that a Russian defeat in the Ukraine war is "impossible by definition".

The Russian premier also revealed he has "never refused" to negotiate a peace deal with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

He told Carlson that the war in Ukraine could be over in a "weeks" if US President Joe Biden stopped supplying weapons to Zelensky.

Reacting to the death of Navalny following Carlson's interview, Nigel told GB News: "Tucker's a friend of mine, but I have to say, not even to ask a question about Navalny was I think the biggest failing of his interview, and I thought that at the time.

"Now it looks like very, very poor judgment from Tucker - that question had to be asked if there are elections coming up in Russia."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Host Ben Leo defended Carlson, stating: "To Tucker's credit, he did ask about the jailed American journalist and he asked to take him home in fact.

"But Putin, interestingly in the last couple of days, has come out and said he was surprised at how soft Tucker Carlson was.

"He didn't ask any challenging questions, and he pretty much criticised him for being such a soft touch."

Nigel agreed with Ben, replying: "He did ask about the journalist, to which Putin, of course, had a very strong answer, which is because we caught him red handed - so you can believe that, you can disbelieve that.

"But not to have asked about the state of democracy in Russia, not to have asked about Navalny was a major failing of the interview.

"And now in line with what's happened today. It does look like Tucker failed, frankly."
