A search is underway to trace a missing 12-year-old girl who was last seen five days ago.

Jamie-Lee Harvey was seen boarding a train towards Glasgow at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, March 14 at Ayr train station.


Police believe she may have gotten off the train in Irvine as she frequently visits the Irvine, Kilwinning and Saltcoats areas.

Searches are ongoing in Ayrshire as police liaise with officers in Glasgow city centre and British Transport Police.

She is also known to travel to the Union Street area of Glasgow.

The 12-year-old is described as 5ft in height and of medium build with long, light, brown hair.

She was last seen wearing black clothing including a padded jacket, jumper, leggings and trainers.

Police Scotland urge anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Alex Beagrie of Irvine Police Station said: “Although Jamie-Lee has been reported missing before, she has never been away for this length of time.

“She is only 12 years of age and she has not been seen since Tuesday.

“Searches and enquiries are ongoing to trace her as soon as possible to ensure that she is safe and well.
