GB News’s Home and Security Editor Mark White has said today’s police statement on the car ramming in Liverpool is both “incredible and encouraging”.
In an update, Merseyside Police told reporters 65 people were injured in yesterday’s city centre incident.
Speaking on the People’s Channel, Mark White gave his assessment of the additional detail disclosed by authorities.
“This would follow on from what we got from the last news briefing when the police did point to the fact that vehicle traffic management measures were in place and road blocks around the footprint of this parade which begged the question of how on earth did this vehicle get into the footprint of that parade?”, he said.

“Well now the theory that this vehicle effectively tailgated an ambulance heading into that footprint to respond to an injured party. The barriers were lifted temporarily to let the ambulance in and it seems the vehicle followed the ambulance in.
“In terms of the number of people injured, a significant rise in the numbers of those treated. We were told last night that 27 people had required hospital treatment and now the police are saying 50 were treated.

“11 of those people who were injured remain in hospital. On the very positive side, she said all were in a stable condition and responding well to treatment. That is both incredible and encouraging given the scenes we saw and the number of casualties.
“At one point, four people were pinned under this car after it came to a halt including three adults and a child. They had to be freed by the fire and rescue service.
“Then we heard about the investigation itself, an extensive one into the circumstances of the incident.
“They are urging people not to speculate when of course, that is not going to happen. People are going to fill the information vacuum and that is why these updates are so vital in giving us the actual facts from the ground.”

The number of injured requiring hospital treatment is nearly double the initial figure of 27 that authorities had announced on Monday.
The ramming occurred as fans had gathered to celebrate Liverpool's Premier League championship, turning what should have been a joyous occasion into a scene of chaos and injury.
Merseyside Police are holding the driver on suspicion of attempted murder, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The 53-year-old British man remains in custody as the investigation continues into the shocking incident.
Forensic officers have been examining evidence near the site of the ramming, carefully documenting the scene where the minivan ploughed into celebrating supporters.
The methodical collection of evidence is expected to play a crucial role in building the case against the suspect.
The incident has prompted an outpouring of support for Liverpool from across the football community, as the city comes to terms with the attack that marred their championship celebrations.
