GB News host Matt Goodwin has waded in on the Epping asylum hotel court ruling

Today, the British courts made what is - in my mind - an utterly outrageous decision. After an appeal by the Home Office, judges have overturned an interim ruling saying illegal migrants cannot be housed in Epping’s Bell Hotel. Unfortunately for the people of Epping, this means those illegal migrants will return, until a full trial can be conducted in October.

This decision has been looming large all week, after weeks of nationwide protests against migrant hotels in local communities.

But the key question today was always going to be: is the Labour government on the side of the British people - the law-abiding, tax-paying majority - or on the side of illegal migrants?

For years now, British taxpayers have been subjected to an outrageous policy whereby they continue to be forced to pay £5.7m every day, to put unknown young men into hotels right at the heart of British communities. Often we don’t know who they are, we don’t know their beliefs, and we don’t know their intentions for being here in Britain…

And now, a Government who promised to end the use of asylum hotels, has kept THIS hotel open, at least until the October hearing.

Despite the knowledge that one of their residents is currently under investigation for an alleged sexual assault…

Lawyers for the Epping Hotel have argued “the perceived risk” of housing illegal migrants is being “fuelled by disinformation on social media”. Clearly, not all illegal migrants are criminals. But, a reminder of some cases across the country:

The rape of a 12-year-old by a Syrian illegal migrant in Birmingham is not “disinformation”.

The murder of a pensioner in Hartlepool, Terence Carney, by an asylum-seeker from Morocco is not “disinformation”.

The murder of a young British man, Thomas Roberts, by an asylum-seeker from Afghanistan is not “disinformation”.

This is real, and it's happening today.

Britain now sits at a pivotal crossroads, and radical action is going to be required.

We need to leave the European Convention on Human Rights.

We need to repeal Tony Blair’s Human Rights Act.

We need to regain control of our country, borders and laws.

And we need to put our own people & children before illegal migrants.
