An eyewitness has expressed outrage over safety concerns at today's Liverpool parade, claiming a road that remained open while others were blocked led to a serious incident where a car drove into celebrating football fans.
The incident occurred on Water Street in Liverpool city centre during celebrations for Liverpool FC's Premier League title victory.
Merseyside Police confirmed they are attending the scene after a car collided with pedestrians, with emergency services quickly arriving at the location.
A 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The eyewitness claimed on GB News that while other roads had been blocked since 9am this morning, this particular road was left open, creating what they described as a "recipe for disaster" that resulted in serious injuries.
"Who left this road open? All the other roads are blocked. From 9am this morning, they were all blocked," the eyewitness said in their emotional account to GB News.

The witness expressed clear anger about the situation, adding: "This road was a recipe for disaster. People need to be held accountable for this s***. It's bang out of order. I'm so upset about this s***."
The incident occurred as thousands of fans had gathered in Liverpool city centre to celebrate the club's Premier League victory.
Images shared on social media showed a large emergency service presence at the scene around Water Street and Dale Street.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer responded to the incident, saying: "The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected.

The eyewitness concluded their account with a stark warning about the consequences of what they perceived as a serious safety failure at the parade.
"There are serious injuries and this road should never have been left open. It was inevitable this would happen," they told GB News.
The exact number of people injured in the incident has not yet been confirmed by authorities. Merseyside Police have urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the collision.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision," a police spokesperson said.
