‘Enjoy your final minutes!’ Greta Thunberg mocked after ‘wipe out’ climate change prediction falls flat

Greta Thunberg has been ruthlessly mocked after her “wipe out” climate change prediction failed to materialise.
The 20-year-old activist shared a shocking prediction about the future of humanity on social media in 2018.
The post said: “A top climate change scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.”
The post was uploaded to Twitter at 11.18am on June 21 in 2018.

Ex-Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney challenged Thunberg in a post on social media.
Responding five-years later, the GB News presenter wrote: “Enjoy your final minutes, because, according to Greta Thunberg & her ‘top climate scientist’ humanity will be ‘wiped out’ at 11.18am today, because we didn't stop using fossil fuels five years ago.”
When questioned by one Twitter user, Daubney added: “That’s exactly what it says.”
However, another wrote: “That's not what the tweet says!

“It says humanity's future is now doomed since we haven't already dumped fossil fuels.
“The key point is that now we've hit this date, there's no point doing anymore to save the planet so let's enjoy our diesel cars, heating & foreign holidays!”
Daubney’s tweet was liked over 3,300 times and retweeted by 883 users.
Thunberg was yet again arrested earlier this week after blocking oil tankers in Malmo for five days.

The Swedish climate change activist was with members of Ta tillbaka framtiden, also known as Take Back The Future, when she was escorted away by police on Monday.
Thunberg has been arrested several times due to her activism, including in Germany and Norway.
Tweeting on Saturday, she said: “The climate crisis is a matter of life and death for countless people.
“We choose to physically stop fossil fuel infrastructure. We are reclaiming the future.”
