Over 70 per cent of people want foreign terror supporters deported, while only 30 per cent think immigrants are integrating well

Nearly three-quarters of people think foreign nationals who glorify Islamist terrorism should be deported from the UK, an opinion poll has found.

The poll by People Polling and commissioned by GB News found 74 per cent of people agreed foreign terror supporters should be removed from the UK - 4 per cent disagreed and 11 per cent said they did not know.

Among males surveyed, 82 per cent agreed with expulsions, while 65 per cent of females were in favour.

The figure rose to 92 per cent overall among Conservative voters and 70 per cent of Labour supporters agreed.

Among Leave voters, 89 per cent wanted to see deportations, as did 73 per cent of Remainers.

Asked how well they thought immigrants were integrating into society, 30 per cent of respondents nationally said “well” or “fairly well”, while 46 per cent said not well or not very well.

Some 25 per cent of people overall said they did not know, though that rose to 55 per cent among the 18-24 age group, with 29 per cent saying they were integrating well.

The poll, carried out by People Polling, surveyed 1,906 adults across the UK on 23 October.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Professor Matt Goodwin, director and co-founder of People Polling, said: “What these results show, in the aftermath of the attacks on Israel, the unfolding conflict in Israel and Gaza, and the debate about the London Metropolitan Police’s handling of protests in London, is that the British public are overwhelmingly supportive of deporting foreign nationals in Britain who glorify terrorism.

“In fact, only a handful, just 4 per cent, would oppose this.

“Almost three-quarters of all British people and more than nine in ten Tories would support the deportation of such people.”
