The first Pfizer jab was given back in December, but how many more vaccinations have been administered since then?

A record million Covid-19 jabs were booked when over-25s became eligible for the vaccine, new figures show.

The NHS in England said that a record-breaking number of vaccine appointments were booked on Tuesday as those aged 25 to 29 in England were able to book an appointment for the first time.


There was a “Glastonbury-style” surge of traffic on the NHS website, officials said.

United Kingdom

  • A total of 70,253,625 vaccinations have been given across the UK.
  • In the UK, 41,088,485 people have received the first dose.
  • A total of 29,165,140 people have received the second dose.
  • Currently 78% of people aged 18 and over in the UK have had the first dose.
  • 55.4% of people aged 18 and over have had the second dose.

England

In England, a total of 59,032,003 vaccinations have been given.

  • 34,321,990 people have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
  • A total of 24,710,013 people have been issued a second dose.
  • 77.5% of people aged 18 and over in England have had the first dose.
  • 55.8% of people aged 18 and over in England have had both doses of the vaccine.

Scotland

In Scotland, a total of 5,834,309 vaccinations have been given.

  • 3,459,063 people in Scotland have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
  • The second dose total is 2,375,246.
  • 78% of people aged 18 and over in Scotland have had the first dose.
  • 53.6% of people aged 18 and over have received the second dose.

Wales

In Wales, a total of 3,538,144 vaccinations have been given.

  • 2,201,665 people have received a first dose.
  • 1,336,479 people have received a second Covid-19 vaccine dose.
  • 87.3% of people aged 18 and over have now had the first dose.
  • 53% of people aged 18 and over have had the second jab.

Northern Ireland

In Northern Ireland, a total of 1,849,169 vaccinations have been given.
