Birmingham locals have reacted to the City Council’s bankruptcy, as they begin to sell off assets as part of their recovery plan.

Speaking to GB News West Midlands Reporter Jack Carson, people in the city shared their thoughts on the state of the council and living in Birmingham.

One local said: “The cost of the of the council tax now is getting to a point where a lot of people are finding it really unaffordable, so it's a significant chunk of it of your outgoings. And yeah, certainly I would consider perhaps moving to a different city if it was to go up anymore.”

Another said: “I am very worried about the city because I like the library, for instance. I mean I'm always in the library and I'm very disappointed really with the council.”

A third resident revealed: “I came from Liverpool to come here, and they're going to think, well we won't go to that that city anymore. We'll go somewhere else and be better off going to another place, then coming to Birmingham.”
